Granted, the original song itself is pretty moody as well, so it’s not like there’s a massive injustice being done here. ![]() As seen below, the vampire-slaying action is accompanied by a cover of Soundgarden’s classic song “Black Hole Sun.” But it can still be effective at times, and considering the gave that popularized this trend, it only seems fitting that the launch trailer for the next big upcoming Xbox game, Redfall, features such a cover song as well. Ever since Gears of War launched with Gary Jules’ now-famous cover of “Mad World,” the moody song cover has been a bit of a go-to staple for video game trailers, to the point of mockery at times. ![]()
